Confused about unsuccessful uni applications, can anyone help?

I applied for 1st and 2nd year Psychology at Glasgow University, and have just recieved unsucessfuls for both. I don't understand why this has happened, as the entry requirements are AAAB, which is exactly what i have, including an A in psychology. I'm also sitting an HNC in Social Science this year, which if I got an A in, I presumed would let me into year two. I have been offered an unconditional for year two at Stirling University, which is of the same standard as Glasgow, which makes me yet more confused why Glasgow has rejected me without reason. Stirling is much too far away from where I live for it to be feesable that I go there, and Glasgow has always been my frist choice, so is it possible they have made a mistake telling me I've been unsuccessful, and is it possible I could still get in?

Why doesnt The Sims 2 Holiday Edition actually make holidays happen?

I received the holiday edition for Sims 2 quite awhile ago and it has never played properly. I've tried removing it and reloading it several times and it's never made a difference. Whenever I try to make a holiday roast it tells me that I'm out of food when I'm not. If I put a Christmas tree out all I can do is mess with the lights or view the tree, but I cant open gifts. Santa has never come and I've had chimneys before. There has never been a pop-up saying "It's Christmas!" or anything along those lines. What's the point to having decorations if there’s never a holiday? The only thing that has ever worked was having a New Years party (which I can have any day I want), but Father time (the old year guy-- whatever you want to call him) always appears at the end of the street and the entire party has to walk out to the corner to cheer him becoming a baby. Hi i have worked with java,C#,C,C++, and,Delphi and found merits to each one i did like the ability to control memory management in C and C++ but their cryptic syntax and having to write alot to accomplish a little was inconvenient to me, as for Delphi it had most of what i needed except the complete lack of doentation i mean its really hard to find online docs for its cles and methods something like the java docs for example, i like C# because its high level and has many built in libraries in the .NET framework that facilitate alot but i dont like the idea of the Garbage collector controlling my heap and also its support for pointers is immature and incomplete, so i need an answer to my main question and if yes please redirect me to website that contains the compile or a full IDE if possible, i appreciate any help you can offer :)

Stubborn shoulder/back pain?

Tadpole/frog help please!?

i have been raising tadpoles in a tank for a wile and they are starting to turn into frogs. there is a rock in the tank half submerged in water for the frogs to climb up onto when they need to but im scared they don't know how because the frog in there never seems to get out of the water by itself so i put it on the rock by hand and it'll sit there for a bit then hop around then get back in the water. i dont want it to drown but i dont want to keep handling it coz i think it needs to find its own way on to the rock. please help.

Your teacher should be the one to discuss this with and give his recommendation. If this is a hindrance any surgeon would probably operate on you but if it could be overcome by practice and the wisdom of your teacher than you will truly be a better cello player. How can I help educate young people on heroin abuse through my personal experiences?

I am a 42 year old man who has battled drug abuse for years but heroin only came into my life full time around three and a half years ago .Once I new I was on my hundredth last chance and did want help ,it was hard to get unless you had a stack of cash to burn and after burning quite a big stack of cash already on trying several different ways of coming of heroin I knew there was only one chance I had left . The last chance Im talking about was going on a methadone programme,something that I always said I would never do but after trying everything else and leaving myself penny less it was my only lifeline left for me to try so I put my name on a waiting list and was told it could be as long as one and a half years .It took 10 months for me to get on the programme but in that 10 months I had put my family through even more hell ,gave myself a police record which I did not have before hand .I feel ashamed of what iv put my wife, children, mother ,father ,brother ,the list is never ending but now I do see some light at the end of the tunnel ,after nearly a year on methadone which I can only stress doesn't work for everyone ,I have not only went on to a methadone programme but have grasped every opportunity of any kind of help because I basically new I wasn't a bad person I just had some nerve ,anxiety and depression issues that I had battled and self medicated with valium and other benzodiazepeens for around 15 years then had a bereavement in the family and went on smack full time .Now I feel Iv so much knowledge ,help ,understanding of the whole drug culture ,may it be smoking pot to taking heroin I feel If I could give even one youngster a little hope or help to get clean I would love to .Im no trained drug councillor or even that well educated but what I can offer is understanding of being a drug addict and sometimes that's worth allot more than all the degrees in the world and sometimes young kids can look up to someone who has actually been through what they are going through ,so if anyone has any knowledge of any way I could help either online by telephone or any other charitable work to do with kids on drugs or helping to educate kids to say no to any form of drugs I would be very happy .Many people will probably judge this question from me and say he needs to keep himself stable for a good few years first before he goes trying to help others ,well yes they can have their opinion but I feel I need to do something for myself and others because it can only help me more and give me some self respect back into my life doing something like this which ultimately can only strengthen my rehabilitation.So anyone who knows of something I could be doing to help the forgoten people, that like myself was on waiting lists and felt worthless please reply with suggestions.Thanks for reading ,and by the way I have not found god on my path to where I am today ,so don't think I have a hidden agenda on trying to convert anyone .

So, I jog/run everyday. A couple months ago, I increased my jogging time to an hour. However, I noticed my thighs started getting huge due to the increase of activity (building muscle). If your present roof doesn't leak putting new shingles on top of the old won't "develop new leaks later on." Your roof will easily handle two layers of shingles but you will find if you try to hire somebody they will almost always want to remove the old shingles and start fresh. If there are any old shingles curling or deformed your new roof will not have a smooth appearance but if your present roof is in pretty good shape and you can smooth out any curling shingles by nailing them down there shouldn't be any problem adding a second layer. It is much less work now to not remove the old shingles, but it will be harder when you reroof in 15 years or so to remove two layers rather than one.

How soon is too soon? I took to pregnancy tests a week ago which would've put me at maybe 2-3 weeks pregnant and both were negative. But when I was pregnant with my son I took a test and it was positive 6 days after conception. I am late on my period and my have been sore for almost 3 weeks now. What other reason could there be?
