What camera 2 take to the rainforest?

Hi I'm going to b headin 2 the rainforest nxt yr & am trying 2 decide what camera 2 take. I'd really like a dig cam so I can see the pics I've taken & take movies but I know they use up batteries really fast & I'm not sure how it would cope with the humidity. I was thinking about the canon powershot A710 IS if anyone knows anything about this camera that would be great. Also does anyone know how best 2 protect a dig cam from humidity. Any info at all would b g8! thx
