How can Freemasons afford to pay for their temples or lodges?

Masonic Temples are paid for through dues and donations made by members. The Freemasons are not the underground power brokers that conspiracy theory nut jobs make them out to be. Modern masons start out in the Shriner's club, a charitable organization and move up through the ranks as they progress through networking and good works. The most they are guilty of is effective networking and a desire for camaraderie and shared interest.
