Does having an SLR camera make a difference?

it's the manual control they offer that makes the difference, the lens' don't do anything other than taking the picture and focus and zoom. like most other lens' except, with these lens' you can change them to get higher zoom and better focusing, and you have to do it on the lens itself, it's not like a P&S where you push a on on the camera to make it zoom, DSLR bodies do not have that feature, it's the lens that does the zoom and focusing.
